Selective Service

The law says that men must register when they turn 18 with the Selective Service System.  It is important for young men to register with Selective Service to stay eligible for programs and benefits connected to registration, such as college loans and grants, federal employment, job training, and driver’s license eligibility in most states.  You may register

www.sss.gov .

American School Correspondence Classes

Students may make up two failed classes (2 credits) by correspondence.  Exams at the end of each chapter need to be sent in after each exam is completed.  When you have completed all exams at the end of each chapter and sent them back to the American School, you may take your final exam in Guidance.  Do not wait and send in all exams at once. If you wait and send in all exams at once, it may take a couple weeks to get your final, because they will not send a final exam until you start sending in your end of chapter exams.  Then the final has to be completed and returned in the mail.  When they are correcting your exams and they have found you have failed an exam, it will take a couple weeks to get a replacement exam back to you to make up the failed exam. This could be a problem if the deadline is nearing for all work to be sent in.  All exams need to be mailed to the American School by April 15 in order to get a transcript back to Fulton High School before Graduation Day.  May is a very busy month for the American School as many other students are trying to finish their correspondence before Graduation.  Correspondence applications are available in Guidance and must be approved by the principal.  Applications must be signed by a counselor.  All fees must be paid and work completed before the American School will send a transcript to Fulton High School.
