Construction Update
River Bend Families:
We are very grateful for your input as the district considered the needs of our students, staff, and community. After careful consideration and discussion, the district has decided to adjust its plans for upcoming construction projects. The new focus will be on adding a physical education classroom/space at RBMS and a multipurpose/wrestling space at FHS, as well as addressing necessary roof repairs at FHS, RBMS, and FES.
As the board, administrators and construction planning team worked through all the feedback, several points became clear. First, the community would like to see a less expensive option be considered. Additionally, we learned that our roofs are currently eligible for a recoating process. The recoating option comes with the same warranty and life span as a new roof for 2 million less dollars.
We remain committed to making fiscally responsible upgrades across our campuses. We appreciate those of you who responded to our surveys and attended the Town Hall events. At this point, the district is still determining the most appropriate timeline and best funding method for each project.
